Anna Porcu (Siena, born 1977) belongs to a prominent Tuscan family with ancient roots. The daughter of an antiquarian, Anna has inherited a knowledge of antique artifacts and an eye for rarity and fineness of detail. She received a Master's degree in art history, after which she did archival work in the Gucci archives in Milan and at The Fashion Institute of Technology in New York.

Stimulated by these experiences in design, she decided to create her own collection of jewelry using rare antique cameos. She created her first collection and launched her business, Anna Porcu, in 2011.

Anna has searched the world for museum-quality cameos in materials that include shell, ivory, amber, agate and lava. She has become an expert in this type of art which, carved in extremely low relief by master artists, dates back to ancient Roman times and often includes mythological or pastoral narratives.

By re-crafting the cameos' original settings and using additional sterling silver and sometimes gold, Anna transforms each cameo by placing it in a contemporary setting of leather. The wonderful combination of the delicate cameos against the leather creates a strikingly fresh collection.

Each piece is unique. All the leather and the entire process of realizing the jewelry is made by expert artisans in Tuscany. In 2013, Anna began designing her own new line of contemporary cameos, also created by fine Tuscan carvers.
